Grand Boats Australia, a leader in premium fiberglass rigid inflatable boats (RIBs) and tenders, has appointed Boat Sales Tasmania as its exclusive dealer for the Tasmanian region.
Based in Sandy Bay, Hobart, Boat Sales Tasmania (BST) has been a trusted name in the local boating community since 1988. A family-owned business, BST already represents brands such as Jeanneau Power & Sail and Integrity Motor Yachts — and now adds Grand Boats to its curated portfolio.
Matthew Johnston, Principal at BST, brings deep industry experience to the partnership, including board representation at the Australian International Marine Export Group (AIMEX), and Managing Director roles at Muir Windlasses Australia and Head of the Marine Division at Tasports.
He commented, “Boat Sales Tasmania (BST) are excited to represent Grand Boats in Tasmania. Tasmanians love their RIBS and Grand Boats offers a quality alternative to other brands presently in the market”
Grand Boats officially launched in Australia in July 2024, with its national distribution and dealership office based on the Gold Coast. In just one year, the European brand has gained strong momentum, earning recognition for its design and impressive on-water performance.
With this appointment, Boat Sales Tasmania becomes the second authorised state dealer for Grand Boats in Australia, joining Chivers Marine in Western Australia as the brand continues its national expansion.
Dan Arscott, Managing Director at Grand Boats Australia, commented:
“Boat Sales Tasmania is a well-established and highly regarded name in the region. Their strong reputation, industry relationships, and commitment to customer service make them a perfect fit for Grand Boats. We see tremendous opportunity for growth in Tasmania and are thrilled to partner with Matthew and his team.”
The news follows Grand’s recent announcement of its new flagship model, the Grand G950, a 9.5-metre luxury cabin RIB with a twin-stepped hull, expected to arrive in Australia early next year.
Grand Boats will be available to view and order from Boat Sales Tasmania later this year.
