What is a rigid inflatable boat?
A rigid inflatable boat – also referred to as a rigid hull inflatable boat (RHIB) or RIB – combines a solid hull with inflatable rubber tubes. This combination creates a boat that is incredibly stable and safe on the water. Unlike a traditional hard boat, a rigid inflatable boat provides an incredibly comfort ride in all conditions thanks to the tubes that increase buoyancy and essentially act as shock absorbers. What is an Inflatable tender?
An inflatable tender boat is a small inflatable or rigid inflatable boat used to travel between a larger vessel and the shore. Grand’s inflatable tenders range from 3 metres to 4.7 metres and are designed for yacht support, harbour cruising and water sports.
What is Hypalon and why does it matter?
Hypalon is a rubber material used in high-quality inflatable tubes. Grand uses Orca CSM by Pennel and Flipo, renown for being the best quality tube material manufacturers in the world. The thickness of the tubes varies depending on the size of the boat, however regardless of thickness and tube colour, all Grand Boats are fitted with overpressure valves to ensure longevity and durability in the harsh Australian sun and heat. Other tube materials include PVC, however this is known to degrade in UV conditions.
