The latest model in our lineup of premium centre console rigid inflatable boats, the Grand G680 combines modern luxury and hull technicality in a fresh new stylish design. At 6.8m in length and with a power rating up to 200HP, the Grand G680 has combined the premium styling of Grand’s midsize models with a refreshing, contemporary touch.
With a centre console that allows for maximum space around the RIB boat, as well as a large sun-bed at the bow and a deep-set U-shaped seating area at the stern, this leisure rigid inflatable boat empowers family and friends to travel comfortably and safely. The Grand G680 costs $155,500 (inc GST). Included in this package is a Yamaha 200HP outboard with digital electric steering, all electronics (12″ Garmin Chart Plotter, Fusion Stereo & six 7.7″ Amplified Speakers, Garmin VHF and Scanstrut Wireless Phone Charger), and all of our recommended features (electric windlass anchor, bow sun deck kit, shower kit & water tank, wet bar with a sink & tap, full-size bar fridge, fibreglass t-top, bow & stern canvas sun shades, harbour cover & overall cover). We also include safety gear, mooring lines, and registration. You have everything you need to get on the water safely straight away.
How does the Grand G680 compare to the Brig Eagle 6.7?
The Grand G680 is more spacious, better riding and comes more comprehensively equipped than the Brig Eagle 6.7. It is the comparison we get asked most at boat shows, and deserves a detailed answer.
The most immediate difference you notice on board is space. The Grand G680 has +42% more internal space than the Brig Eagle 6.7, with a deck area that is 62% larger than the Eagle 6.7.
The larger internal space is due to a few factors. First, the G680’s console is centrally positioned, meaning you can walk around both sides freely. The Brig Eagle 6.7’s console is offset to starboard, which restricts movement on one side and reduces the usable deck area. The G680 also has tubes that are positioned further outwards, which push the usable interior space further out toward the gunwales, making the deck space feel a lot more spacious. Storage capacity is also a notable difference, with the G680 offering eight deep storage lockers.
The ride quality difference is also key. The Grand G680 has a deeper hull with sharper deadrise angles, 24 degrees at midsection and 21 degrees aft (whereas the Brig Eagle 6.7’s deadrise is 21 degrees at midsection and 16 degrees aft). This gives the G680 superior wave-cutting ability and a noticeably smoother, drier ride in chop. Owners consistently describe it as performing and feeling like a bigger boat on the water.
On price, the Grand G680 at $155,500 sail-away is higher than the Eagle 6.7, and that difference is accounted for by what is included. The G680 as standard in our sail-away package comes with an electric windlass anchor, wet bar with a full-size bar fridge, sink and tap and a fibreglass hard top with sun shade canvases. Included in that package is also the highest quality, amplified Fusion audio speaker system, a 12″ Garmin Chart Plotter, and VHF. When you spec a Brig Eagle 6.7 to a comparable level of fit-out, the gap between the two closes considerably.
The Grand G680’s design reflects Grand’s design philosophy, which utilises negative angles and clean, angular lines throughout the fibreglass, creating a level of aesthetic refinement that sets it apart from traditional RIB styling.
Is the Grand G680 suitable for families with young children?
Yes, the Grand G680 is a popular choice for families with young children.
Its centrally-positioned console means that you are able to walk around the boat on all sides, making it easy for everyone to move around onboard. The tubes are positioned further outward, which also opens up the internal space onboard, making the G680 feel like a much bigger boat.
There is plenty of moulded, cushioned seating onboard with U-shaped seating at the stern with handrails all around, comfortably seating 6+ people.
Up at the bow, the sun pad is large and can be extended with an infill cushion. There are also tube-mounted bow railings, which raise the freeboard of the boat and provide something to hold onto when sitting up at the bow – a feature that families with the G680 love.
Feature-wise, the Grand G680 includes an electric anchor, shower, table, full-size bar fridge, sink & tap – which means that your family meals on the water and days anchored up in the water are easy. Storage is also plentiful, with eight deep storage compartments throughout the boat.

Is the G680 suitable for offshore use?
The Grand G680 performs incredibly well in offfshore conditions, thanks to the exceptionally designed hull.
What outboard engine does the Grand G680 come with?
As standard, the Grand G680 comes with a Yamaha 200HP outboard with digital electric steering, which is our recommended power option for this model. The Grand G680 can be optioned with a Yamaha 150HP outboard instead, which performs well and can be a good option if you are looking for a more price-considered boat option.
Is the Grand G680 good for fishing?
Yes, many of our Grand G680 owners use this boat for fishing. It is an incredibly balanced platform, has a fantastic hull for heading offshore, and has plenty of space onboard to move around. There are a lot of large storage lockers onboard, and we can also add custom rod holders. Some of our customers have also added a radar and lightbar to their G680 package for their fishing adventures.
What is the fuel range of the Grand G680?
The Grand G680 carries 200 litres of fuel in an under-deck floor tank. Actual range depends on engine, speed and conditions, but the 200 litre capacity with a Yamaha 200HP outboard makes it suited for 8 – 10 hours of cruising and around 200 nautical miles per tank.
How is the Grand G680 hull different to other RIBs?
The hull on the Grand G680 is one of Grand’s best. With a 21 degree deadrise angle at the aft and 24 degree deadrise angle at the midsection, the hull is an incredibly deep V, fast hull that cuts through conditions and heavy seas cleanly.
The boat climbs up onto the plane quickly, sitting high, and glides through the water rather than ploughing through it like many RIBs can. In addition, long, clean chines down the hull enhance balance and maneouvrability, while a sharp cross-section at the bow enhances wave-piercing performance.
There is a concave shape between the tube and the hull deflects spray and water downwards to create a dry ride, while many other RIBs can often be quite wet while underway.
The Grand G680 offers the best hull performance of any RIB in the 6 – 7 metre size category; it is dry underway, balanced, and handles chop and swell incredibly well.
What sun shade options does the Grand G680 offer?
Included as standard in our sail away package for the Grand G680 is a fibreglass hard top and bow and stern sun shade canvases. The fibreglass hard top covers the console area, while the sun shades extend out from the hard top, covering the entire boat in shade.
Can you tow the Grand G680 in Australia?
Yes, the Grand G680 is suitable for towing in Australia. With tubes inflated, the overall width of the Grand G680 is 2.64 metres, which exceeds the 2.5m width restrictions, however tubes can be deflated (reducing the width to 1.5 metres), making the boat suitable for towing.
The Grand G680 fully laden (including full tank of fuel, water, batteries etc) weighs 1269 kg, making it suitable for standard cars with a 3.5 tonne towing limit.
What else do I need on top of the Grand G680 sail away package?
Everything you need to get on the water safely is included in our Grand G680 sail away package, including engine, electronics, all our recommended options, covers, safety gear and registration.
However, if you want to add a trailer, or other electronics such as a radar, underwater lights and light bar, these can be added onto our package as an extra.
What is the resale value of the Grand G680?
Grand Boats hold their value well. They are manufactured in Kharkiv, Ukraine, the same city as Brig, using the exact same quality materials and to the same build standard, so there is no inherent reason resale should differ materially from an equivalent Brig of the same age and condition.
Dan Arscott, Grand Boats Australia’s Managing Director, represented Grand Boats in the UK for ten years before bringing the brand to Australia. In that market, where Grand has a significantly longer history, second-hand Grand RIBs have consistently sold at prices comparable to equivalent Brig models of the same age and condition, reflecting the parity in build quality between the two brands.
In Australia, Grand’s second-hand market is still in its early stages, with most owners having purchased new in the last two years. The second-hand Brig market by contrast is well established and well supplied, meaning buyers have more choice and prices reflect that volume. Low supply of used Grands means those that do come to market are not competing against a large number of similar listings, which supports stronger pricing in the near term.
As Grand owners naturally trade up to larger models over the next year or two, more G680s will enter the second-hand market. Given the build quality, the popularity of the Grand G680 model in particular, the comprehensive sail-away specification and Grand’s rapidly growing brand recognition in Australia, we expect resale values to remain strong.
