Grand Boats has unveiled its new flagship, the Grand G980, at Boot Düsseldorf, marking a significant milestone for the Ukrainian RIB manufacturer.

The most advanced model in the brand’s history, the G980 represents a clear step forward in scale, refinement and onboard liveability, while remaining true to Grand’s long-standing focus on performance, safety and thoughtful, functional design.

At 10 meters in length, the G980 has been developed to suit longer days on the water and the versatility that modern boaters expect from their boats. Its hull design, extensive options list, and modular list allow the boat to adapt easily between social cruising, family use, water sports and performance-focused adventures.

A New Chapter For Grand

The G980 continues the design language that has long-distinguished Grand’s models, with sharp lines, negative angles, a central console layout, and a commanding on-water presence.

Designed and built in Ukraine, the G980 is the result of extensive development work, incorporating feedback from customers and dealers across global markets. The layout prioritizes ease of movement and clear separation between social zones, creating multiple spaces for connection and relaxation on the water, without compromising flow.

Performance-led by design

As with all Grand models, hull design has been central to the development of the G980. The twin-stepped, sharp-entry, deep V hull has been designed in collaboration with Swedish race boat designers Mannerfelt, delivering predictable handling, wave-piercing performance and confidence across a wide range of conditions.

Operating comfortably both at low and high cruising speeds, the G980 offers balanced, composed handling suited to both experience operators and those stepping into larger boats. Powered by twin 350HP outboards, the G980 is capable of speeds exceeding 50+ knots.

Low-speed manoeuvring and close-quarters handling are supported by integrated systems including a bow thruster and electric windlass, making operation in bays, anchorages and marinas straightforward and controlled.

Space, comfort and versatility

Onboard, the G980 offers multiple distinct living areas, including a generous bow lounge, a well-protected helm, and a highly adaptable aft deck. Flexible seating arrangements and optional features allow owners to tailor the boat to their preferred style of boating.

The aft deck

The G980 is a key social hub, offering a high degree of modularity. Seating can be configured as a wide rear bench, a U-shaped dining area or a full wrap-around arrangement, centred around an adjustable table. A fully-equipped wet bar, featuring twin fridges, a cooker, sink and intergrated storage supports entertaining onboard.

The rear bench seat folds back and extends with an infill cushion to create a large sun pad, while providing easy access between the swim platforms and the water.

The front cabin

Bright and spacious, the front cabin offers standing headroom, multiple windows, and flexible accommodation, configurable as either twin berths or a single double berth. Integrated storage, an electric toilet, charging points and lighting create a functional and comfortable space for overnight stays.

The bow area

At the bow, another adaptable social space features forward-facing seating and a generous sunbed. A flipping lounge seat acts as an infill, transforming the space into a full-width sun lounge for relaxation at anchor.

A distinct flagship design

The launch of the G980 underscores Grand Boats’ ongoing commitment to rigid inflatable boats, designed differently. Built for versatile, real-world use, the G980 offers owners the freedom to undertake longer journeys, enjoy more comfortable days on the water and pursue adventure in whatever form it takes.

The Grand G980 will be making its southern hemisphere debut at the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show in May 2026.
