FAQ
Rigid Inflatable Boats For Wakeboarding: FAQs
What makes a rigid inflatable boat good for wakeboarding?
RIBs are well-suited to wakeboarding because of their v-shaped hulls, which cut through the water cleanly and generate a consistent, clean wake. Their rigid hull provides stability at speed, while the inflatable tubes absorb chop, meaning a smoother ride for passengers and a more predictable wake for riders.
What size wakeboarding boat do I need?
For recreational use with a small group, a 4–6 metre RIB offers a great balance of performance and manoeuvrability. Models such as our Grand G580 and Grand D600 are popular choices. If you’re after an inflatable tender that also serves as a wakeboarding vessel, our Grand G380 and Grand G420 are perfect choices. If you’re running a commercial wake operation or want to carry larger groups, a 9–10m model with high horsepower options is the better fit.
Can I use a Grand RIB for both wakeboarding and waterskiing?
Yes. All Grand wakeboard RIBs are designed for towing and perform equally well for waterskiing. The v-hull shape and high-power engine configurations make them capable across all tow sports.
Do Grand wakeboarding boats come with a wake tower?
Yes, the majority of our rigid inflatable boats come fitted with a wake tower or ski arch. On our smaller models – such as the G380 or G420 – you’ll find a ski pole fitted, which has been designed for tow sports. On our larger models, all of our RIBs are fitted with a ski arch which creates a high tow point for optimal tow sport performance on the water.
Find The right Wakeboard RIB For Your Needs
Grand Boats offers rigid inflatable wakeboarding boats ranging from 3 m to 10 m, power-rated up to 700HP, with v-shaped hulls engineered to cut cleanly through the water and generate optimal wake for wakeboarding, wake surfing, and waterskiing.
If you’re looking for a commercial wakeboarding boat, look no further than our Grand D950, which can be powered by up to 700HP and customised to hold 12 passengers on board with jockey seats.
For family fun, our Grand D600 is the best wakeboarding boat in our range, thanks to the sharp v hull shape and sports configuration layout that enables to sit on board comfortably while the boat travels at speed.
If you’re looking for a small wakeboarding boat, our Grand G420 is a great choice, with its fitted ski pole and high power engine options. Despite its smaller size, you can still easily fit several passengers on board while you tow.
Across all of our wakeboard boats, make the experience even better with the inclusion of Fusion Speakers on the wake tower – the best way to emit music off the back of your boat for your wakeboarder.
All models in this range are equally suited to waterskiing, making them a versatile choice for any water sports enthusiast. Our guide on the best rigid inflatable boat for wakeboarding can help you further navigate the best option for you.
